  1. Relax. Sure, it’s easier said than done, especially in today’s world where we are constantly swamped with social media, shopping, and going from one activity or social outing to the next. Believe it or not, stress is one of the main contributors to insulin resistance and blood sugar imbalance, so it’s in your best interest to take a breather in between your plans, and it’s recommended that you take a break from social media, because while you are sitting still scrolling through the many online posts, the stimulation can lead to stress. Press pause on your day every now and then to engage in some relaxation techniques such as praying, visualization, yoga, and deep breathing.

  2. Revise your nutrition habits. You’ve most likely spent your entire life being bombarded by fad diets and on the receiving end of doctors pushing certain food groups on you at any given moment. When it comes down to a healthy diet, it’s all pretty simple. Stick with lean proteins such as meat, fish and eggs, and veggies, and you’ll be safe and on the right path.

  3. Keep it clean and green. Like many illnesses in life, environmental toxins are to blame and they most certainly contribute to diabesity. Be sure to use green cleaning products to clean when possible, filter your water, and avoid using plastic products when you can.

  4. Supplements. When it comes to treating and curing diabesity, supplements play a major role. In addition to changing your eating habits, add in the following vitamins: Fish oil, a multivitamin, biotin, an alpha lipoic acid to balance blood sugar, green tea catechins, cinnamon, chromium polynicotinate, and glucomannan.

  5. Exercise. You’ve heard it before and you will hear it again, and when it comes to diabesity, exercise gets a gold star. Try to get in at least 30 minutes a day, even if that means just adding up three ten-minute chunks of walking around the neighborhood.

  6. Connect with others. According to research, when you tackle a goal with others, it is more likely to get accomplished. By asking your friends and family members to join you in your mission to get healthy, you are encouraging them to take back their health as well.
