When it comes to brunch food ideas, you simply cannot go wrong with eggs. Not only are these protein powerhouses perfect for keeping you full, but they can be used in a variety of different meals that go beyond breakfast.

For a hearty and tasty meal, try combining scrambled eggs with sautéed spinach and top with some sliced up tomatoes. For added flavor, toss in some sliced mushrooms and onions and squeeze some lemon juice on top.

Eggs are probably the most versatile food, and for good reason as they can be added to most dishes and they naturally pick up the flavor of other ingredients. If you are in the mood for something spicy, try adding some fresh green or red salsa to your scrambled eggs. Just be sure to purchase the salsa that doesn’t have added sugar.

Who says brunch has to come on a plate? Now that summer is here, there is no better time to get in the smoothie zone, and they make great quick meals for the time that is in between breakfast and lunch. There are really no rules when it comes to making a tasty smoothie. Feel free to toss blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, spinach and a green apple. This will fix your mid-morning sweet tooth and keep you full until your next meal. Why not whip up a batch of smoothies for lunch instead of having to pull out all the cooking utensils. Simply toss the fruit and veggies in a blender and pour. Maybe you’ll start a new brunching trend and others will start sipping right along with you.

Who says coffee has to be boring? Brunch is the perfect opportunity to test out some new coffee drinks. You have lots of options when it comes to your daily caffeine fix and you don’t need to add artificial sweeteners and creamers to get some good quality flavor. Try adding a scoop of vanilla or chocolate protein powder and you will get that creamy consistency that you love.

If you want to keep it really simple, you can just slice up some apples and strawberries and drop some stevia drops on them for a burst of flavor and an energy boost to keep you going strong in between breakfast and lunch.

Now that the nice weather is here, it’s the perfect opportunity to gather your friends for a brunch session outdoors on a patio or a deck. Bonding over meals doesn’t mean that you have to stray from your diet goals.
